Does Osteopenia Have Anything To Do With MGUS? I Have Just Been Diagnosed With Osteopenia.

Newly diagnosed MGUS but blood work is way off and I have gotten calls for additional tests ie Bone Marrow etc. which I thought came later in disease process.

Yes it is related. MM affects your osteoblasts and osteoclasts. That’s why supplements are a must for me.

Hi Chris i was diagnoised having Osteopenia when i had Breast Cancer twice and thar was many years ago(2012) and i just was diagnoised for MGUS in 2024. I took Fosamax.

Osteopenia can be related to MGUS (Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance). According to the knowledge base, those diagnosed with both MGUS and osteoporosis (a more advanced form of bone density loss than osteopenia) may take bisphosphonate medications, such as Aredia (pamidronate) or Zometa (zoledronic acid) Show Full Answer
