I have asked to never be placed in a “retirement home”. Why would I want to live my life with strangers, away from my family, friends, home, my garden, roses and everything familiar? I’ve worked my whole life to make my home just the way I am like it and it’s comfortable. I should not have that right taken away, just because it’s inconvenient for others to hire a caregiver. The elderly are not being stubborn. They are protecting their rights. We should not lose rights when we get older or sick. In my experience, it’s only for a few years. Mothers and Fathers spend more than a few years taking care of their kids. They take care of them into adulthood. I am passionate about this. I put my mother-in-law into a beautiful retirement home and it was the worst thing I ever did. Family takes care of loved ones better than strangers. A week later she ended up in the ER. My mom had caregivers come into her home and I trained them all, so that she got what she needed. Individualized treatment. Her favorite foods, napping in her favorite chair, visiting with relatives, and walking or being pushed in the wheelchair to chat with neighbors. She got to stay with my Dad too

I did alot of reading from march 2020 when told I had mm stage 3,,I wanted to know about the enemy mm so I could forge a game plan to fight it,,after in remission and out of remission 3 or 4 times I had the car t cell therapy in February I'm curred,but all through the 4 years I was never worried knowing I was going to win and I did....you can too study the enemy ask many questions you are stronger then mm....

Actually, I read about how badly other people are suffering more than me and I feel gratitude that over comes the worry. I am blessed.
