Has Anyone Taking Revlimid Had To Have Their Dose Reduced? I Was Taking 15 Mg And Now It Will Be Reduced To 10 Mg Because Of Side Effects.

As part of my induction treatment I've been taking Lenalidomide (Revlimid) 15 mg since January 2024. Within a few weeks I started getting an itchy rash under my arms and across my chest which I was able to use hydrocortisone cream OTC for relief. But last week I got an unbearable rash and the itching was relentless. I have found my doctors amenable to tweaking my medications in an attempt to give me a better quality of life, particularly the doctor at DanaFarber.

I started out on 20 mg of REVlimid. My MD Anderson doctor had it dropped to 15 mg after the first cycle. I was not having any side effects, thank goodness! She dropped it because I am a small frame person weighing around 105 lbs at that time. My numbers continue to move in the right direction. I’ve been told 10 mg will be my maintenance dose after regular treatments are finished. I hope the lower dose continues to move your numbers towards good health!

I am person who asked the original question regarding the reduced Revlemed dose to 10 mg. My major concern was lessening the effectiveness of the treatment. As a follow up I’ve now been on the 10mg dose of Revlemed for about 8 weeks and I continue to have positive progress as my blood work continues to improve. By the way I’m 81 and was in good health prior to my mm diagnosis. So far my age does not seem to be a barrier to improvement. Hope that’s helpful to people who perceive themselves as old and therefore have a lesser chance of dealing effectively with mm. Ruth 277

I had a similar issue and have now been on a reduced dose of Revlimid at 10mg. Rash and itching were horrible at the higher dose. Doing very well with 10 mg so far. Ruth277

Ruth! You do not look 81 years old! The doctors are right, you are in good shape! I thought you were my age.
