Does Anyone Take Dexamethasone And Revlimid As Maintence?
I’m really struggling with taking 20 mg of Dexamethasone weekly. It’s 50 degrees here and I’m sweating like I’m in the Caribbean…. Can anyone explain why we need to take all the dex in one day? I wish we could take 1 a day for 5 days…. Thanks in advance for any suggestions…. I have no idea if this will be my maintenance therapy for the rest of my life but it’s not a great maintenance plan for me…
I completely agree - if you’re Induction gets you to or near normal Labs, please postpone your consideration of a SCT.
When I was Diag 2 years ago, I was MRD Negative (none per million) in 7 months without a SCT.
3 months Induction and 4 months lighter Maintenance. I was advised by my Consulting JH Onc - get it then or 3 years later would not change my Overall Survival Rate. It made the choice to postpone very easy. It was the Right Choice for me. I never lost my Life Time Immunities and never had to go through the SCT Recovery.
Well I've been on the dex, Velcade and later added Revlimid10 for awhile...and have been pretty stable...diagnosed in 2015. I guess everyone is different. I've had some side effects from Revlimid...fatigue and taste issues...so good luck to all of you fellow MM folks!!!
Greetings from Alaska since I did not achieve remission after my SCT i take dexamethasone every other week but now I only take 12 mg. I take 10 mg of revlimid, but I only take my revlimid every other day to keep it from driving my white blood count to low. Have a discussion with your doctor about reducing your dexamethasone especially if you have already achieved remission. God bless you. I hope this helps.
I took the dexamathone when taking chemotherapy. They took me off of it after bone marrow transplant. Now I just take the Revlimid
I take the Revlimid for maintenance for 21 days a month then take a week off. I take 5 mg with a Bayer aspirin to avoid clots
