Is Anyone Using 10mg Ritalin Daily?

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

A year ago, I was given 10mg Ritalin to take daily, to help me during extreme fatigue times. It helped me focus at a time I needed to concentrate on my work. I only took 5 of the 30 pills. It was quite helpful but I was at a point of wanting to get off all meds possible. At that point, the list was very long.

Though I'm doing well physically, I'm finding the aftermath of treatment has really affected my ability to focus on big tasks. I'm a programmer and I do electronics design and… read more

Hi Kim - as for my MM, since it’s not measurable at 10 -6 (none per million cells tested), we’re letting my healthy body keep things in check. I also take 8 grams of C3 Curcumin daily as it’s shown efficacy in fighting MM through multiple case studies. 10 -6 is a very deep and durable Complete Remission. I very strongly believe Less is Best when it comes to MM Meds. They’re all poison with a long list of risks. If in the future if I relapse, I’ll take meds to beat it back again but not until then. My oncologist (of over 30 years) is very pleased with my choices and they monitor me closely - currently with 6 weeks Labs and 3 months MRD tests. June makes a year off all MM meds and we’ll extend to 3 months Labs and 6 months MRD tests. At the moment, I’m not sick so I’m living my life as normal until I am again, if again. There’s plenty of Links at my Story @A MyMyelomaTeam Member that refer to Case Studies that say to do exactly what I’m doing.

Unfortunately, treatment has left me with various problems - neuropathy and a lack of focus on getting of into big projects that I’ve enjoyed immensely.

All the Best

Hi Sandra2018 - From my Story.
Here’s info about C3 Curcumin. The NIH Study concluded it aided in the treatment of and keeping MM in remission.

C3 Curcumin:
I continue to take 8 grams (8,000mg) full spectrum C3 Curcumin. At the onset, I found multiple Studies that spoke to C3 Curcumin killing MM cancer cells. I would not recommend it as an only treatment but I’ve taken it as a natural supplement that it might have helped me obtain my Complete Remission and that it may help me stay at MRD Negative. There’s plenty of indications to that goal.

LelandStandford commented to my Question about people who had stopped MM Meds. Leland quoted the Case of Dieneke Ferguson, diagnosed in 2007. I searched the web & read up on her Case. Different articles recount the story a bit differently but it seems she had 3 relapses, then they gave her 1 year to live. This was probably before Velcade (that breakthrough treatment was only released in 2014). She found Curcumin and took 8,000mg daily (same source company that I've mentioned about the Curcumin I take). Without any additional treatment, she lived another 13 years, until 2020 (died of ovarian cancer).

The C3 Curcumin I use does have Bioperine which is a pepper for high absorption. Below is a link. I checked out their C3 Curcumin source. Very large and reputable international corp.

Hi Leland

I'm 9 months without any MM Medication whatsoever and I can tell that things are good but not the same.

My PT Doc said getting off Gabapentin and Lyrica will lift a Fog that's over me that she's noticed with many others that have been on these Meds. My last attempt to stop Lyrica (had phased out Gabapentin to switch to it) caused considerable neuropathy pain when my oxycodone would wear off. I had very gradually phased out Gaby and then Lyrica, so it wasn't a withdraw issue from either.

Interesting about you finding it hard to "focus on big tasks". I have experienced finding it difficult to "stay on task" for long periods. I do a lot of repetitive tasks while making my display cases and I find myself quitting (or wanting to quit) much sooner than I used to on those kind of things.

Thank you. I had some diarrhea issues for the past couple months doc thought it was colitis from many years of advil use so I quit taking the curcumin in case that aggravated it but my colonoscopy was all good. So they put me on Colestid and it works great so I’m going to get back on the curcurmin
