Curcumin (Swanson Theracurmin)
Any thoughts on taking curcumin (Swanson Theracurmin). I just started taking it 100mg once a day. I am definitely feeling the anti-inflammatory effect, joint and back pain relief.
@A MyMyelomaTeam Member,
With MM eating away at the calcium in our bones, we can’t forget it’s taking it out of our muscles too. If I’m getting enough calcium, I don’t have the cramping, ever. If I feel tightening, I think back to what I ate. Usually it would be something with too much salt. Salt has to pair with calcium to exit the body. Avoid at all costs.

Hi Paula - I've been working on my Golf Game and finally - I'm very glad to say, as of a week ago (last Wed) I'm no longer taking Oxycodone or Xtampza.
I took a trip to Florida, for a week in mid April, for a Trade Show. I had plenty of prep for that event.
Most importantly, I had been working with a PT to help strengthen my legs and reduce the cramping in my feet with stretching.
A very unexpected discovery. I had changed to a Pain Management Company (PMC) since my GP couldn't help with the extended release Xtampza. Working with my PMC, we upped my daily total from 20mg Immediate Release to a total of 40mg Extended (30mg) + Immediate (10mg).
While continuing with PT, I was commenting that my cramping in my toes was still quite and and the weakness in my legs continued, despite my workout efforts.
Fortunately, I noticed more cramping an hour after taking the Extended Xtampza.
It's taken a few weeks but I dropped the Xtampza and changed to OTC Tylenol and Ibuprofen (4 each of the 6 each daily limit) and then we added Tylenol 3 (T3) (300mg/30mg codeine). My PMC has allowed me 4 daily of the Tylenol 3 - I'm already down to 2 - T3 daily and expect I'll stop T3 in a month or so.
My discovery is the oxycodone - for 2-1/2 years become its own problem of muscle weakness and foot cramping.
When I recently saw my GP and told her of my discovery and efforts (then) to remove Oxy & XT, she indicated - Sure, Oxy will cause this. Up until now, everyone told me the 5mg - 4x daily was so low of a dose, No Harm. We'll they got that wrong too.
Sadly, that's the tip of the ice-berg that I've discovered in the last Month.
I'll be adding to my Updates with some rather mind-blowing discoveries.
@A MyMyelomaTeam Member,
You’re back! I hope you had some time away from thinking about MM. I like being on here, because I feel like I am helping others. I bought Dr Brandy’s book after watching one of his podcasts. He’s amazing and has IgA Kappa like me. I have learned so much from him and from you. I’m having trouble walking, so I have finally added Strontium. Welcome back. You are needed.

Work up to 4,000 to 8,000 mg daily
It’s what takes my pain away and works similar to Revlimid. There was a study using it for MM. i think they were talking about a much larger dose. Check out @A MyMyelomaTeam Member posts.
