Tomorrow I Have An Office Visit And Will Be Discussing Getting Re-vaccinating After My Stem Cell Transplant.

I'm not a huge fan of pumping my body full of vaccines. Is there anyone out there who has had to deal with this? I just have a lot of concerns😔

I got all my vaccines and year after by SCT. I chose to do them all on the same day. About 7 shots in the bottom and arms. Then follow ups for the next 3 months. I had zero problems. I chose not to get flu related vaccines because they do not work for me. In about 3 months I will be getting "live" vaccines like polio and i do plan on spacing those out.
I think everyone is different and unique when it comes to vaccine reactions. But we have to remember that these things work and can save our lives.
Talk to your doctor before starting this up. Be honest about your anxiety but also talk honestly and don't let pandemic conspiracies influence your decision.
Good luck and I hope it all goes well.

It's understandable to have concerns about vaccinations after a stem cell transplant. Here are some key points from my knowledge base that might help:

- Increased Risk of Infections: People with multiple myeloma are 15 times more likely to contract infections.
- CDC Recommendations: The CDC recommends annual flu vaccines starting one year after a stem cell transplant.
- Flu Vaccine: Only the injected version (inactivated virus) is recommended, not the nasal spray (live virus).

Discuss your concerns with your doctor to make an informed decision.
