I was stiff in the am before MM -- and still have it. I do stretching, walking and working out with weights to loosen and strengthen muscles. We're not getting younger. I play golf 3-5 times per week...and try to keep as active as possible. Don't give up but keep moving -- motion is lotion says my longtime PT friend.

I'm a 78-yr-old caregiver to my also 78-yr-old husband. He's in MM maintenance and only gets stiff and sore when he overdoes it physically. I, on the other hand, have no known disease but have awakened most every morning for several years with lower back pain and stiffness that usually dissipates as the day goes on. Old age! 😬😆 But those with MM have to scrutinize every ache and pain, rightly so...Disease? Meds? Age? 🤔

I have done stretching exercises for 1/2 hour every morning for years, at least 10. I also walk the stairs, 40 steps, following stretching. Am an 11-year survivor. I suggest you start slow, just a few minutes. Don't push it. Don't rush it. "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!"

Well, we are all getting old and stiffness goes the territory. In my experience we don't take enough meds to help with stiffness. One person said they take 1 tylenol on waking. Given our state of physicality that's a drop in the bucket. 2 every 4 hours is the dosage for severe pain. Some folks don't like meds but given our conditions relieving pain allows us to lead more normal lives. Hopefully.
