He has been living w it for 2 years. Makes it close to impossible to use a cane or walker. He fights to make use of hands for eating, preparing food, washing up, and two of his three favorite hobbies: Completing the Sunday New York Crossword Puzzle, and reading a Book ( he doesn't want to use a Kindle or be read to or listen to books on tape... for God's sake he was a Bookstore Owner!)

Anybody else afflicted w relentless, almost no usable hands? Is this part of Multiple Myeloma? Any advice… read more

Meg, usually this is a sign of a deficiency! I had this problem, and having a good multivitamin with at least 25,000IU of vitamin A (beta-carotene). This is just your baseline of nutrients, next you might need some nutrients for nerve, and muscle building. When you have illness in the body, then you add stress/anxiety/worry, and then treatment. It depletes your nutrients. Having a healthy isn't enough, a healthy diet is enough for some people without sickness, and treatment. I don't have any problems with my hands, anymore... they are fully functional without pain. May I please recommend a few nutrients that have helped me? (Please, research these or ask your doctor about them) Vitamin b12, the complete B Complex of vitamins, Vitamin d3, Vitamin k2 Mk-7, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Omega 3s, and Co Q10. Please, make sure your multivitamin also includes, selenium, copper, and zinc. God bless and I really hope you feel better!😊

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member,
Great advice! B vitamins are great for the nerves. I try to take all of these, and when I do, I feel great. Meg, he has to take them everyday for them to work.
