It's great to hear that you've been doing well on your chemotherapy treatments. Here are some key points about multiple myeloma and its prognosis:

- Survival Rates: The five-year survival rate for multiple myeloma has improved significantly over the past few decades. For instance, the five-year survival rate for people diagnosed with multiple myeloma is 53.9 percent.
- Treatment Options: Newer medications as first-line treatments have led to better outcomes. Autologous stem cell transplants (using your own stem cells) can improve prognosis but are not always necessary.
- Prognostic Factors: Your individual outlook depends on various factors, including the stage at diagnosis and the treatments received.

Keep discussing your treatment options with your healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Hi Tracy. Good luck with your decision. It is tough deciding. I don't know what I will do at relapse. CAR t does have some scary side effects. It can carry the risk of secondary cancers as well. I might be eligible for Ventoclax, since I have 11:14 translocation. I might also consider a bispecific. I might even consider another transplant. Lots to think about. Of course, staying in remission forever would be nice. 😄
