What does this test check for?

First of all, get a Myeloma Coach to help you with al the questions. Go healthtree.org /coach.
The immunoglobulin test measures your heavy chains and light chains-Kappa and Lambda. The ratio between the two help determine your level of MM cells in your blood and the type of MM you have. I am IgG Lambda.
Each month you'll get a test to see if your treatment is working by the rise or fall of the Kappa and Lambda light chains.

My oncologist ordered an immunoglobulin test and I had that ...blood test yesterday. I have MM, so what is this test for?
I have SO many questions and there are only 24hrs in a day.

My oncologist orders these every other month to check my mm numbers and when needed. The medicine that I am on makes more susceptible to more infections so he watches my numbers. At lower points, this week I had an IVIG treatment to boost my immune system. It would do you good if you had the explanation of every test so you know what they are for. Ask your Dr and they will give you a paper copy. It really helped me. There is always Google until then.

Thank you! Yes, I check those kappas and lambdas every blood test results time. I was questioning why this extra test now? I have mentioned a few times about my low immunity, when I'm around others. I thought maybe he's tired of me mentioning it and checking immunoglobulin will answer my question....
apparently this test does not measure my immunity %
I have an MM coach but not through those organizations. I am a follower of Health Tree and the other well known org. that I'm blanking out on right now.
I ask in here for faster replies.....like from AI or one of our administrators, or from Doctor education lessons in here. I think AI has taken over their practice, however.
