Maybe I should eat ice cream and it will cause me not to like it and then I won't want to eat it all the time LOL

Rennie, Totally agree with you. Most foods tasted very bland for a couple weeks following the SCT, but then everything returned to normal taste wise.

Actually ice cream tasted good, and I was encouraged to eat it on the days when I found it hard to eat the meal provided by the hospital. Boost, Ensure, etc. were also provided, and were pretty good tasting when they were very cold.

Everything tasted really dry and no flavour something like sawdust but I forced myself to eat anyway because I knew that I would need to eat so that my body could heal itself.

I experienced loss of taste for about two weeks after my SCT. The loss of taste was attributed to the DMSO preservative in the bags of my harvested stem cells when they were infused back to me. Everything returned to normal. I was cautioned not to eat any of my favorite foods during this time because it could possibly ruin my taste for those items in the future.
