Does Dominic A. Brandy Have Any Financial Stake In The Products He Recommends In His Book?

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
New York, NY

I bought the book, "Beat Back Cancer Naturally", by Dominic A. Brandy, MD. There's a lot to go through in the book. I skimmed through the chapter where Brandy lists all of the supplements he uses and can't help but wonder if he profits from the sales of those supplements. Is there a section in the book with disclosures that I missed?

KappaKing, those were my thoughts precisely, since most of the book leads you to one supplement or another. I have never been a fan of supplements or any kind of pills, I take the minimum. If I have a headache, it has to be really bad for me to take a Tylenol. But that is just me. But there was some very valuable information in the book in spite of this.

Kappa,
I have read the book and he does say that he does not benefit in any way. He has a stake in curing MM because he has it with us. Fortunately he is a doctor and can read all the reports we don’t understand and put it in language that is easy to read.

Larry,
My sister keeps telling me about Consumer Labs and how they test products. I’m going to join. It’s just too hard researching supplements.

Yes and No. First, the science in his book is very well researched and very informative that explains why a Plant Based Diet makes a difference.

He started treatment in 2017 and changed to a Plant Based lifestyle as part of his recovery. His research for his recovery became his Book.

When I went to get many of his referenced Supplements, I found they were no longer available. Since I was using his Text/Email Services, I asked what do I do.

He provided me a Supplements Update PDF with replacement brands. I’ve Posted those two Pages as images somewhere on this Forum.

Though he wasn’t getting money compensation from Douglas Labs (many of the original Supplements were DLabs), he was getting those products, due to his Book and Medical Status and MM History, At No Cost for himself - therefore indirect compensation.

Due to new management at DLabs, that relationship ended. That then led to the Supplements Update PDF. I asked Dr Brandy for his Permission to pass-on the new Supplements List and he did give me the OK to do so.

Though he originally never sold Supplements, recently he’s added his own Brand of Supplements. They’re very high quality but far too expensive for me.

Besides what I had already found on my own and from his PDF, I now research brands as he told me he did (prior to his own brand). I now have a ConsumerLabs Annual Account - they do independent testing. For the Supplement categories they test, their results info is excellent.

The second source he used (and probably others) is NutritionFacts(dot)org.

I have his Ebook on all my electronic devices. I refer to the Ebook almost weekly, doing a search for one thing or another.

Even though I’m Negative, have excellent Labs and off all MM Meds, I still have his monthly email/text service, either to ask questions about Supplements or if anything in my Labs leave me with a question.

So No & Yes.

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member - maybe it would be a good idea to put your request into a new question. It may be hidden inside someone else's question and people might not see it.
