Inspiring to read and see in our team how we are engaged to compliment the individual wellbeing personally beside our medical threatment. When we study each option at the time, to relate to how can a natural approach such as diet, stress-reduction or change of surrounding support the improvement for our health, then we can understand better the challenge.
I adapted to many changes in my daily life beside my medical-threatment and I’m using natural supplants to feel better. The use of AHCC works for me, just to mention it.

"Active hexose correlated compound (AHCC) are chemicals that come from fungi, such as shiitake mushrooms. It's used in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
AHCC might increase the activity of natural killer cells in people who have cancer. It might also help protect the liver against certain poisonous chemicals and prevent diabetes.
People use AHCC for cancer, liver swelling caused by hepatitis C, damage to the immune system caused by cancer drugs, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.

If I chose to try any natural supplement, I did so with my Dr’s supervision.

It’s great to be open to and explore the non conventional and alternative path, however, I have become very mindful of the fact that many of these products might not be produced with the excellent quality control required to ensure that they are not laced in toxins and harmful material! Specially if in the form of capsule, sometimes the cover shell could be produced overseas and/or in a separate non certified facility and/or contain carcinogenic material!! I threw out all that I got from Amazon!! Currently, unless it’s a good/known brand I tend to stay away from it. I do attribute some of what I have experienced and this out-of-the-blue-diagnosis to possibly toxins I may have gotten exposed to when taking supplements. Supplements I thought I needed for optimal health could be the culprit in opening of the gateway that led to MM🥹so I am now being extra careful about all mushroom extracts and other such supplements!!

Since I'm experiencing my first Relapse, I've been spending hours daily reading about MM, our bone marrow, our TCells, and many connected aspects. I had reached a clonoSEQ Complete Remission of 10 -6, being no cancer per million cells tested. The clonoSEQ testing method is the latest and most sensitive testing method available.

That said, the MM Cancer Cells are of a type TCell that are LongLivedStemCells. As such they have no programmed time to die like the majority of cells in our body. Most cells are created from ShortLivedStemCells. SLSCs are programmed to die and are always being replaced. In comparison, LLSCs can last 20yrs, 40yrs, and even a life time. When MM Cancer Cells replicate, these bad cells are also LLSC - therefore a rapidly growing army of indestructible very bad guys.

These bad Cells have places in our bone marrow that are called Niches. These are places they can hide in that our Chemo and MM Meds can not easily get to. This explain why when people get a SCT Transplant with an extremely strong Chemo to completely wipe out everything in our Marrow, this process doesn't get to all of these Niches. Its also why some people have to get multiple Transplants and still Relapse. In my case, I did not get a SCT Transplant.

So if even one MM Cell survives, overtime, it can replicate and build masses of demons to attack us again. People stay on Maintenance long term in hopes that as these new MM Cells gather, the continued MM Meds might kill the new one before they become enough to cause harm.

Sadly, when MM Relapses, it often Mutates into a more aggressive form that is more resistant to the MM Meds and multiple faster. This is why when someone stays on Maintenance Meds and then Progresses, its determined that another set of MM Meds are required to kill the new mutation.

In my case, I did not Fail while taking Maintenance. I elected to stop Maintenance. I needed to rebuild my physical health. Treatment reduced me to a walker and wheel chair. Once I was Negative, I spent 3 months at the gym to regain my strength. During this past year, I was also able to restore my CBC Levels to Normal. They were still Low when I was declared Negative. The time off the MM Meds, allowed my body to recover. For me this was important since I had 3 bad upper respiratory infections in just one year after starting Treatment. IgA is more prone to these types of infections.

I'm sure there's much to this than what I've described but these are some of the basics that explain why MM is so very difficult to treat.

Hi Tina23 - Two days ago I did a TeleVisit with Dr. Dominic Brandy. He offers Nutritional Consulting and Monitoring (very reasonable costs). In 2017, he was diagnosed with MM (14% bad plasma and no High Risk). He then changed to a strict Plant Based Diet and wrote his Book/EBook - Beat Back Cancer Naturally.

He's been on Treatment for 6 years with Revlimid and Dex. He's just now dropping Maintenance.

During our Meeting, I discussed my new Diet. Since I have Active MM, he doesn't want me on a Whey Protein Shake or Vital Proteins. One is its ingredients is Methionine. It and others in these products promote cancer's growth. Somewhat the same as Hemi-Iron.
