What’s The Word On Alcohol? I’ve Had 2 Beers In 2 Years And I’m In Tears!

I remember my doctor saying no alcohol during induction chemo but haven’t asked him during maintenance. What can you tell me about it? What has your doctor advised? I’m currently on the maintenance regimen of 10mg Revlimid 21/7, dexamethasone and Darzalex monthly.

Yes it’s everyone’s personal choice and I don’t think that all the chemicals in our food these days will mix very well with all our drugs either. We never know when the end is coming so I don’t see any problem with enjoying life a little since so many of life’s pleasures have been taken away from us. I have one drink a day to help ease the pain because my pain meds just don’t take away all the pain.

When trying to heal bone marrow, why ignore the health of the rest of your body? The heart and liver react unfavorably to alcohol. So does the gut where your immune system is. If alcohol helps calm you so you can cope, find another coping mechanism, like dancing, singing, enjoying your grandchildren, gardening, getting a massage or facial. Share what makes you feel good.🌹

Yes enjoy your life in moderation because you never know when the end is coming. I know people that drank heavily and smoked heavily live to 90 years old and people who never drank or smoked plus ate properly and died at 35 years old so when your time comes nothing is going to change that.

There is a saying that says you can live to be 100 if you give up all the things that make you want to live to be 100. The Titanic was full of women who waved off the dessert cart.

I totally agree with people that are not going to let their MM take away the few pleasures that we have left in life and I don’t think it’s going too make much difference in the length of your life but moderation is the key.
