Does anyone know how drinking beer would effect myeloma in remission? Diagnosed in 2020. Had chemo and stem cell transplant. I take Revlimid daily for maintenance

I have a couple rye and sevens everyday and it hasn’t seemed too cause any problems over a 20 year span but you have too enjoy life a little but each too their own. After 20 years I have been living on borrowed time so if I want a drink why not.

I agree with Diane. I am also on Revlimid maintenance. I always loved having wine but since it is a carcinogen I limit a glass of wine or a beer to once a month.

Revlimid does not interact with MM but both can hurt the liver so just don’t go overboard. I have a drink when out with friends or sometimes on the weekends. Enjoy a little it’s the holidays.
I am in remission and take Revlimid too.

Well I hate to burst anybody’s bubble,
but I promise you that any amount of alcohol is not good for you.
I’m a retired drug& alcohol professional and in recovery myself.
It’s very dangerous to mix alcohol with
any of the medications you’re taking.
It’s very dangerous to your kidneys and liver to filter alcohol so why would you
put that added burden on your organs that are already burdened trying to fight the myeloma?!??

Most articles will tell you that the research says that alcohol is pretty much a carcinogen and not especially good for those with cancer. But several medical sources I've read say that an occasional wine or beer is ok..especially red wine because of the antioxidants in it. I very occasionally have a glass of wine or a beer...maybe once a month.
