What Was Your M Spike When You Went In For SCT?
Hi Paul,
There are many types and different cases , stages of multiple myeloma so I would recommend that you discuss your particular situation with the cancer center oncologist and have them explain M Spike and your blood test results. M Spike depends on your specifics. There are some answers below to consider. My particular MM Specialist and local oncologist test me and the report states N/A , but I am 3 years now in complete response remission. So you see everyone ‘s response levels and cases vary.
A year ago mine was 7 which has increased to 7.5 now.
I have no M Spike. Kappa Light Chain MM, also no CRAB after 7 yrs.
If no other issues, definitely no reason to begin taking drugs, in my opinion.
You may NEVER need the drugs.
I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago through a bone marrow test. I’m in a very early stage, so much that I’m just going for blood work every 3 months. No treatment ordered right now. So it’s a watch and wait. They are wanting me to possibly join in an early treatment trial, simply because there’s not enough study to know if early treatment would be beneficial or more harmful. They found mine through an osteoporosis test.
