I am down three weeks every bout. I have been exhausted and sick since my Stem Cell Transplant in 2020. Is this common? Is immunoglobulins help?

My doctor prescribed IvIg infusions monthly to help with my immune system. When my white counts are down I'm extra careful when going out. Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear about the frequent respiratory infections. Here are some tips to help lower your risk of infections, especially given your history with myeloma:

- Practice Good Hygiene:
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water, especially after using the bathroom, coughing, sneezing, or being in public spaces.
- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if you can't wash your hands.
- Use wipes before touching objects or surfaces that others have touched.

- Stay Hydrated:
- Drinking plenty of fluids can help keep your immune system functioning properly.

- Vaccination:
- Vaccinations can be a crucial preventive measure. Consult your doctor to ensure your vaccinations are up to date and effective given your treatment history.

- Intravenous Immunoglobulin Treatments:
- If your antibody levels are low, regular intravenous immunoglobulin treatments can help increase antibodies and prevent infections.

- Practice Safe Sex:
- This can help prevent sexually transmitted infections that could further compromise your immune system.

- Avoid Exposure to Illness:
- Try to avoid close contact with people who are sick, and wear a mask in crowded places if necessary.

These steps can help reduce the frequency of infections and support your overall health. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
