I have always had problems with swallowing pills. I just found out I have a hiatal hernia. I take pills one at a time with orange juice or nectarine juice. Something thick. I take one, then I take a bite of fruit or a cookie to push it down. I’m now pulling my calcium supplements apart and putting them in my yogurt.

Please talk to your pharmacist to ensure all the drugs can be taken safely. Revlimid is not supposed to be taken if the capsule breaks. Hope this swallowing problem improves 🙏❤️

Did they mention a swallowing study? They are done by a speech pathologist. They can do an assessment and make recommendations.

I also have a Hiatal hernia. I just found out I have it. I haven't been treated for it. I'll have to ask my PCP about them. I'm new here. How do I join or ask someone to join a team? Heck...Will you be on my team? Does that make me automatically on your team? Pardon my confusion...

I thought I was a rare case having issues swallowing. I had endoscopy as well. I was so bad I could not drink too much at once, got food stuck in my throat and larger pills stuck too. I had larger pills, not capsules cut in half, I lubricated pills with either cool water or warm, took each pill one at a time, and tried relaxing because I would even get anxious. Sorry I could not be much help. Dexamethasone also made my neck swell, but this issue continued afterwards.
