I have heartburn for about a day after taking the dexamethasone. My doctor is aware and has down the dose and it better .

I've been taking prescription Protonix (Pantaprazole) for many years due to reflux and other GI issues. I've stopped it at certain times to see if it was causing other problems, but always went back on it because my reflux came back with a vengeance.

I tried many different OTC remedies but nothing works as well as prescription Protonix.

Yes, it’s a known side effect. Doctor has suggested for Pantoprazole-40 once daily in morning in empty stomach. They have instructed to take in evening as well if more heartburn is there. Rgds

Lived with reflux, heartburn and esophageal spasms most of my adult life, until one year before my MM diagnosis when my esophagus was surgically repaired. No acid reflux or heartburn after the surgery.
