I forgot what my numbers were, but apparently they were high enough to be diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.. I wonder how many people have MM and don't know it, aren't getting blood tests or even going to a doctor at all?

My highest kappa level was 11,000;my highest ratio was >800. That was in May. I am now in full remission.

Hi,

My Kappas were 741 pre-diagnosis/treatment and my K/L ratio was 239. The last draw (a few weeks ago), my kappas were down to 34.3 and my ratio to 3.43. Almost there!!

Update: my Kappas are now 11.9, Lamdas are 7.8 and my ratio is now in the normal range at 1.53!!! That was two weeks ago. 1/13/24

Hi Curt - Due to treatment Meds, your Kappa Lambda and Ratio may never be in the Normal range again. They’ll probably be low. It’s not an issue.

What you need to know is if you have a MSpike, what your B2M is (can be temporarily high when you have a respiratory infection) and most importantly the results of a clonoSEQ test. If you’re Negative at 10 -6, you’ve already arrived at the same destination that a SCT would hope to achieve.

In my case, I’m Negative without a SCT and have no need for a SCT.

Don’t assume you require one - get a clonoSEQ test - you can do it from a blood sample. There does need to be a Bone Marrow Biopsy from before any treatment. They will access your archive for genetic mapping.
