Dara
my husband takes Ninlaro, Dex and Dara. For about a year, now. Shortly after starting Dara, he developed a 'tummy" and gained about 10 pounds. We have been told (and read) that this can happen with Dara. But no one has given us a reason, or what to do (if anything). Just wondering if others have experienced this.
I started my treatment with Dex and Dara. I was soon gaining weight. At my next appointment, the Dr. said weight gain was pretty common with dexamethasone. It increases one's appetite. I quit taking the Dex about 10 months ago. And I lost the weight that I had gained (approx 12 lbs). For me, just taking the dartumumab, by itself, is getting me the desired effect. Check with your Dr. about the Dex effect on appetite.
Are you asking about Darzalex (Daratumumab) for myeloma treatment? If so, here is some information:
- Darzalex (Daratumumab): It is a medication used to treat multiple myeloma. It works by targeting a specific protein on the surface of myeloma cells, helping the immune system to destroy these cells.
