Dara

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

my husband takes Ninlaro, Dex and Dara. For about a year, now. Shortly after starting Dara, he developed a 'tummy" and gained about 10 pounds. We have been told (and read) that this can happen with Dara. But no one has given us a reason, or what to do (if anything). Just wondering if others have experienced this.

I started my treatment with Dex and Dara. I was soon gaining weight. At my next appointment, the Dr. said weight gain was pretty common with dexamethasone. It increases one's appetite. I quit taking the Dex about 10 months ago. And I lost the weight that I had gained (approx 12 lbs). For me, just taking the dartumumab, by itself, is getting me the desired effect. Check with your Dr. about the Dex effect on appetite.
