It's important to consult with your healthcare team before making any changes to your vitamin D intake, especially if you have myeloma. While some studies suggest that vitamin D deficiency is common in people with myeloma and can lead to worse outcomes, the appropriate dosage can vary based on individual needs and medical conditions. Taking too much vitamin D can cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, and kidney stones. Always discuss with your physician to determine the right dosage for you.

I have had a Vitamin D Deficiency twice in the last three years. First time just before my smm diagnosis and recently. When It is discovered my doctors have prescribed me 50,000.00 per week for six weeks (7,000 per day) and this has worked both times. When I am not deficient I try to take 4000.00 units a day of liquid form. This last time I also ended up with low calcium. I became deficient again when I stopped taking the 4,000 a day regularly.. My story but you should speak to your doctor for what to take.
