From Experience Is The Car T Cell As Rough As A Stem Cell Transplant?

I've had the SCT 2 yrs ago & am looking at needing the Car T Cell.

I had a really hard time with my SCT. My Carvykti CAR-T was a breeze compared to it. You only get low dose chemo to deplete some of your lymphocytes to make room for the new T Cells to grow. I mostly had fatigue. Very little nausea. One fever of 100.7.

CAR-T cell therapy generally causes fewer side effects than a stem cell transplant. While nearly every participant in the ide-cel clinical trials experienced side effects, most were mild. Common side effects of CAR-T cell therapy include:

- Tiredness
- Infections
- Muscle aches
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Swelling
- Fever

- Headache
- Loss of appetite

However, severe side effects like Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity can occur but are less common. Always discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
