I Have A Question About Spine & Hip Pain. The Discomfort In My Spine Is Defintely Getting Worse?
Is it jormal that my regular blood panel no CRAB and all the blood test for MM are pretty stable. The BMB was at up to 40% in 1/2024. Is something happening in my body that I should be concerned about & my PA should be doing something? How often does someone get a BMB. Thanks!
John I forgot to answer your question about the BMB. I had one to help diagnose my MM. I had 25% plasma cells along with CRAB indicators. I then had another BMB prior to my stem cell transplant and 100 days past the transplant. I no longer have any CRAB indicators and the last biopsy showed no cancer cells.
Nutrition is the conerstone of life and especially if you have cancer, myeloma. Diet is so important with treatment that no one is talking about. Please check it out. Whole food, not processed food. Plant based, vegetables. Makes a huge difference!
@A MyMyelomaTeam Member,
My pelvis is deteriorating and my left leg will collapse. After taking MRM Maximizer III with extra D3, K2 and vitamins A & E complex, I am able to walk again without a problem. My back and ribs started hurting the last 3 weeks, so I started taking @A MyMyelomaTeam Member advice and I’m taking Strontium at night. It’s all helping.

I would ask for a bone scan (CT, X-ray, MRI). Look for lesions and/or porosity. Also, bone pain could indicate a rising percentage of cancerous plasma cells, so a bone marrow biopsy might be in order That broken leg and the continuing pain seem like serious warning signs to me.
@A MyMyelomaTeam Member It’s so timely that you are posting this question today because I saw my myeloma specialist on 9/23 and last week I started having pelvis/hip pain and this week I have been having spine/rib pain. I haven’t been able to find anything to relieve the pain. When I saw my myeloma specialist last month I had no CRAB but my light chain ratio increased from 18 to 28 and my IGG increased to 2929 while IGA ent down to 57 and IGM to 33. It’s interesting that you posted this today, the same time I’ve been dealing with the same thing. This smoldering stage is so frustrating because I constantly wonder if they’re not missing something. How can I feel so bad - but be what they consider to be “fine”? I appreciate you posting your thoughts and I hope you’re feeling better soon 🙏♥️
