I Was Wondering What The Myeloma Team Would Do If Their Oncologist Was Not Communicating With You About Treatment Options?
I am having the same problem. I got two other opinions and sent them to my oncologist for his reaction. I may switch over if I don’t get good response. Also there is always patient relations who can help you switch to another doctor in the same institution
It is always good to know what treatment plan they have in mind for you. I would start asking a lot of questions. I was my husband advocate at every appointment. I had all the questions wrote down and talk to the specialist in length about every time. I would ask if this plan does not work what would be next to try. If you don’t have anyone to advocate for you…you have to be your own advocate. But he/she should be discussing your plans with you on a regular basis.
It seems AI is giving good advice. I would suggest you find an oncologist who specializes in multiple myeloma.
