Rick,
Quality of life is important. If you are good with God and looking forward to Paradise, that’s all that matters.

I was diagnosed at 65 with a medium aggressive Kappa Light Chain MM. Caught early. I’m now 71. My type has a medium survival of 5 years, so I’ve already surpassed the medium. However, I’m now experiencing a relapse, so my oncologist/hematologist is changing my treatment. Hoping to get back to MRD.

Diagnosed just shy of 66. I was well advanced with the disease. I had the usual treatments plus radiation. I then had a SCT. I am coming up on 4 yrs since diagnosis in fact 4 yrs this week. I just left my oncologist/hematologists office Tuesday with him saying your NDD still and normal on immunity. I took a tumble yesterday and nothing broke but I’m hurting all over today. I plan on seeing my great granddaughters become young women. I need to watch my step. Two of the four, these two have a baby sis. I have another one older than these by another granddaughter. I also have a great grandson by a third granddaughter.

Hi Robert, hope things go well for you & you get your MM under control. I hope you make 20 years. I was reading the story of James Bond who made it to 30 years, I think he got diagnosed at 48. It was heartbreaking to see everything he went thru just to stay alive, I don't think I have that kind of will to stay alive.

I am 72 years old and was diagnosed in 2002 and I’m doing okay so far.
