My Oncologist wants me to see my Cardiologist to see if I need the surgery to clear the plack. I am afraid of having a stroke from the surgery.

Hey Joyce, I hear you for sure. My husband will need mitral valve replacement surgery. We will just need to weigh the benefits vs the risks. I'm thinking we need to go to a doctor that does valve replacement surgery, a lot. They have minimally invasive valve replacement options now. I certainly don't want either of you to have a stroke or bleeding. ๐Ÿฅด Lots of prayers are in order for sure๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•

Edwards Life Science makes valves that are inserted through a catheter in the groin. Only go to a heart surgeon that does lots of them. There is always risk. My son has had heart surgeries since birth 35 years ago. Not fun.

Hold that thought! I will surely ask about the bone tumor involvement/palliative care. and if that is what I have. So far I've been told it was bone marrow. This opens more questions for me to ask for future pain management. Morphine is included with the dexamethasone, methadone & a couple of others. The issue here is getting my current hospice provider to review my full medical diagnosis online,( previous different provider) which they have access to. Thanks! It helps to know which questions to ask.

Mrs Joe,
I just read that you can have radiation through Palliative care even though you are on Hospice, but only if it involves the bones (tumors). See if you can ask about it. It may help with your pain and make you feel better.
