Yes, Iโ€™m in full remission after 8 months. Had a bone marrow and PET scan to confirm and just started maintenance meds. Feel good except for the back pain but checking with a spine specialist on that. Stem cell is old school protocol as with the new meds it is not always necessary, more for those that canโ€™t get into remission through meds. Hope you are doing well. Best wishes!

I achieved remission without a stem cell transplant, but we are continuing to plan my ASCT for late March. I had several characteristics of high risk MM, which typically does not stay in remission for long. My MM Specialist, Dr Peter Voorhees, wanted me to have CAR-T therapy, but we have to do the stem cell before insurance will consider the CAR-T. I wouldn't say stem cell is old school. I would say it's one of the tools in our toolbox. There are so many different ways MM presents itself, so many different ways it attacks the body. I have no bone lesions, but I was in Stage 3 kidney disease before we discovered the MM. I am positive for multiple gains of 1q21, gain of chromosome 9, rearrangement of IgH, monosomy 13, deletion of 17p, and translocation of 4:14. I trust God to carry me through this battle. I am in remission and the hundreds of people who have been praying for me are all celebrating.

My husband did, after 6 mos of chemo. That was 4/2021. But the MM is active again with several tumors in his chest & hip. Has not had tumors previously.

Hi there!
I was already in remision before the SCT, but due to my genetics and other risk factors I was recommended to have it eight months ago.
Still recovering, but feeling better!
