Auto-Graft Versus Host Disease

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Olympia, WA

I’m at Day 45. I have developed Auto-Graft versus Host disease. Mt transplant team is treating it with high dose prednisone and is telling me not to worry; it happens sometime. I’m interested to hear others experiences with
Graft versus Host disease after autologous stem cell transplant. If it relevant, we collect 23 million stem cells and used 8 million for my transplant.

Thank you for your reply. I’m sorry for what you’re going through. My transplant was 9/22/2023.
How long after your transplant did your GvHD happen?

I had it also. My docs took it much more seriously, but I was really sick. High fevers, full body rash and TERRIBLE diarrhea. Was in the hospital for 3weeks. Was on high dose prednisone for 6 months which led to repeated infections. I developed an anal fissure from the colon damage and severe diarrhea. Still having issues from that almost 2 years later. May require surgery. I hope you did not have it as bad as I did. My transplant was March 15 2022. When was yours?
