Mine is done through Adaptive Biotechnologies ClonoSEQ testing. It's done on my bone marrow each year. 😉

Hi Kathy, I get the clonoSeq test. It is done yearly on my bone marrow biopsy samples. The company is Adaptive Biotechnologies in Seattle. It is FDA approved 😍

clonoSEQ® (pronounced clo-no-seek) is an advanced test that measures the small number of cancer cells that may remain in your body during and after treatment. This is called measurable (or minimal) residual disease, also known as MRD

Tests that reveal MRD (Minimal Residual Disease) negativity or positivity include:

- Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): This technique creates many copies of a small part of a gene to detect specific genes or gene changes
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS): This method reads many different genes within a cell sample and is Show Full Answer

Tests that reveal MRD (Minimal Residual Disease) negativity or positivity include:

- Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): This technique creates many copies of a small part of a gene to detect specific genes or gene changes.
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS): This method reads many different genes within a cell sample and is more sensitive than PCR. The FDA-approved clonoSEQ test is an example of an NGS test used for MRD detection.
- Flow Cytometry: This test analyzes bone marrow or blood samples to determine the number of cancerous cells.
- Imaging Tests (PET/CT scans): These can detect myeloma cells outside the bone marrow.

These tests help determine if a person is MRD-positive (some remaining myeloma cells) or MRD-negative (no detectable myeloma cells).
