Sometimes My Hands And Feet Turn Red, And They Burn And Itch At The Same Time. It Is Excruciating! Is This Peripheral Neuropathy?
I daresay it is peripheral neuropathy. Ask your doctor about it. I was prescribed tramadol -- an opioid pain killer. I take it occasionally. Fortunately I can make 30 doses last six months or longer.
I also have fibromyalgia for which I take pregabalin (Lyrica). It was a life changer for me. That was 14 years ago. I think it helps keep my neuropathy from being worse than it is. It's rather mild compared to what I read in some of our friends' stories here on MyMyelomaTeam.
Again, talk to your doctor. He should know what to do.
The symptoms you describe—redness, burning, and itching in your hands and feet—can be associated with peripheral neuropathy, especially in the context of myeloma. Peripheral neuropathy often presents with:
- Burning sensations
- Tingling or numbness
- Pain, which can be severe
