My husband was told no contact except the people who live with him for the week before transplant. Lots of cleaning of the house, bedding etc. Extra washing of fruits and vegetables .
We were masked to visit and no children were allowed.
It has been five years and protocols may have changed. Health centres may also have different procedures in place.
