Yes! I have had 6 teeth crack since starting treatment. It is so expensive, but getting them fixed as I can afford it. I developed an infection and now off to an endodontist.

Yes, people with multiple myeloma (MM) often experience jaw and tooth issues. Some common problems include:

- Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (ONJ): Symptoms include exposed jawbone, swelling of the gums, loose teeth, drainage from areas in the oral cavity that won’t heal, numbness or heaviness in the mouth and jaw, and mouth infections.
- Gingival Masses: Tumors on the gums.
- Maxillofacial Bone Pain: Pain in the jaw.

Regular dental visits and coordination with your oncologist are crucial to managing these issues.

Apparently.either the Revlimid maintenance or MM itself does a number on teeth. i snapped off 3 perfectly lovely (?) front upper crowns that were only two years old. Normally, I would have implants, having had 5 in my past before MM. However my oncologist and my oral surgeon have resisted because of concern about osteonecrosis.so my solution for now is a flipper (a plastic shellthat fits in the upper front of my mouth and holds 3 front teeth). The flipper teeth look pretty good. A few months after this installation. I cracked another tooth. Finally a bit of luck: The latest replacement tooth could be attached to my original appliance. You can get used to most anything. Other than raw apples and corn-on-the-cob, I can eat most anything. I can even gnaw a bit of corn and apples but it isn’t very attractive so I don’t do that on dinners out or at home with “company.”
