Anyone Having Cramps In Their Feet ?
I have very bad neuropathy due to Induction. Treatment like dexamethasone did really bad things to my muscles. During the day and as I awake in the morning, the underside and even the inside edge of my feet will have very bad cramps. I'll flex my feet to relieve it some. I've just started taking magnesium oxide (250mg daily). I'm also stretching them at the gym but it still has a long way to go.
Any recommendations ?
Thanks
Dr. prescribed muscle relaxers, didn’t work. I even took OxyContin it really didn’t stop them but the doc changed me to Gabapentin finally getting the dosage right and they dissipated! I seldom have a cramp any longer! Hope this helps!
Hi Pbaldini - Thanks for the recommendation. It worked very well on my feet cramps - they’re gone.
In addition, the Magnesium has let me stop the use of docusate sodium (stool softener). Oxycodone is quite a problem without something to counter it. The Magnesium Citrate is quite a laxative at 600mg and is a perfect balance to the Oxy - thanks.
Thanks everyone for your advise on this. I'm now taking 1300mg Calcium+K and 600mg Magnesium Citrate daily plus my normal D3. This has reduced the cramping significantly. Mag Citrate is a great laxative. No longer need the Docusate Sodium to counter the oxycodone.
Hi Greg - Dex is a steroid that’s very strong. Its six times stronger than prednisone and five times stronger than methylprednisolone. What I expect is that Dex is being over prescribed. The first Doc that I left before using his treatment was going to give me 40mg of Dex with Velcade on a single day. My current Doc did my treatment with only 20mg Dex on Monday with my Velcade shot. When I hear of people on this forum getting Dex four times a week, at something like 20mg per day it’s being very over prescribed. From what I understand the purpose of Dex is to keep the white cells away the cancer so that the Velcade and or Darz, etc., can get to the cancer. It does it by being a strong anti-inflammatory. Point being when used correctly, it’s very helpful but with side effects like muscle wasting - sort of good and bad and really bad when over prescribed.
Try calcium, magnesium, K2 and D3. They work for me. 1200 mg Calcium a day. Half of the magnesium to Calcium ratio. The K2 and D3 helps your body absorb the calcium.
