It's a personal choice I have not had it as I had bad neuropathy from treatment been 2 years in remission,just beforehand look into the possible side effects.
Yes. I've had over 3 years of remission now. As others will attest, it's not an easy procedure to recover from, but you will get through it.
I’m much older than you but at the age of 75 has SCT and it gave me 20 months of remission and now I’m having success with new chemo Talvey. Don’t give up they are always coming up with new drugs.
I had two SCT’s and it gave me 12 years with fairly decent quality of life but it’s not exactly a walk in the park because of the side effects of the heavy duty chemo you get before the transplant and it took me about 1year to fully recover and even then I never came back 100% but they said that would happen. I think it was worth the trouble to be able to have a few more good years of life.
