Immunoglobulin Test; What Number Shows Low Enough Immunity That I Would Get Ill Often ?

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Hollis AK

I keep claiming that when I go to town/around people, I feel ill by the next day or third day. My oncologist and GP kind of pass it off. Yesterday I was told I have a mental problem; imagining it.
What kind of numbers would make such frequent.....issues;or rather psychological issues?
I'm researching and not finding much except "frequent infections"

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member Hmm who’s telling you, you have a mental problem? I think you are totally fine and correct in your theory. It’s unfortunate that this happens to you. Everyone carries many germs so with your compromised immune system you are more susceptible. Hope you can limit your exposure so you can stay well. Hope you are doing well today! Have a great Sunday!

Greeting from Alaska Kathy my numbers are also low. I told the oncologist I was ditching my mask and he said no you are not. He said it was not a good ideal because of the low antibodies. I have resulted to taking a small packs of Clorox wipes with me at all times I wipe all touch points even if I have to sign for my medicine those keypads at the bank and grocery store. I think a good dose of healthy paranoia is all right and I believe that when you’re around, a lot of people you are picking up whatever’s airborne so I limit my access to outdoor entertainment and inside I wear a mask with everyone I view them all as potential germ factories that will not agree with me. I have not taken the flu shot Iam increasing my vitamins and hoping I continue to stay free of flu and colds. Take care of yourself and God bless you.

Kathryn,
In the past when I would get a cold, I would think back a few days to where I was and it was usually the grocery store. Lots of germs are out there and we are all low on immunity. It’s best to protect ourselves with masks and hand wipes in public. I don’t wear a mask outside.
