I had smoldering myeloma for 6.5 years that progressed to active myeloma this year.

Christine gave some great points. Walk as much as possible. They wanted me to dress each day. Yoga pants and big tops are great. I would also recommend some weight lifting strength training now. I lost so much muscle in a short period of time. You will lose your hair in 10 to 14 days. I was already bald from high dose cytoxan. You might want to go ahead and have the nurses shave your head. It's less messy. It's a good idea to eat well now. I didn't have an appetite for a few weeks. The most important thing is to take one day at a time and stay positive. My transplant was in 2017. 🥰💓

SCT…the first 5 days were tough…I wondered why I had signed up for it!.. After that, I felt increasingly better with each day. Was at Mayo two and a half weeks. I forgot about your hair…mine started falling out at the 2 week mark. I was surprised.☹️

Wow. I have exercised my entire life, and I had my transplant when I was 55 and I couldn't do anything more than walk to the bathroom and some light stretching while hospitalized. I couldn't eat for several weeks due to burning of the esophagus. Everyone is different. Listen to your body and convey all your symptoms to the nurses as they are best equipped to help guide you in your recovery.

Hair! I forgot about hair. (Thanks, Donna!)
Not sure if this applies or would work for MM, but there are these new devices called cooling caps they use with breast cancer patients as they get chemo to prevent their hair from falling out. You might check and see if one might also work for you. I just found an article about an MM patient named Meg on penguincoldcaps.com. She said it worked for her. Blessings!♥️
