Is It Flu/COVID Vaccine Season Again?

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

RSV is not available here.....maybe later? That started me wondering about COVID and other seasonal viruses.

We got the Moderna Covid vaccine at a CVS in the nearby Target store because several friends got Covid and the recent trend upward in cases. We reserved a Flu vaccination appointment and two weeks later RSV. The pharmacist recommended that order. We have an appointment traveling to Dana Farber soon after.

Hi Kathryn - None for me. Even though my Ig levels remain low as a result of MM Treatment in 2021/22', knowing that my Natural Killer Cells are at 17%, I have a very healthy immune system, coupled with my Plant Based Diet - my Labs are excellent with perfect CBCs, K/L & Ratio, kidneys, liver, etc, etc.

No MM Meds since last Nov. 23' (just 3 months of a quickly phased out doses after the first 6 weeks), No Covid Shots, No IgIVs, No EvuSheld Shots, No Plaxovid, No Flu Shots (probably ever), and No More Cancer.

Dec 24 will make 3 years that my Marrow remains Cancer Free, from my initial 80% bad plasma, t4;14 high risk, IgA Kappa. I was told these are All Poor Prognosticators - I say, DarzFasPro (now the FDA Standard of Care as of July 24') and the 8 grams of Curcumin I was taking as of Nov 21', changed everything they think they knew.

My last year's Plant Based Diet and Supplements changed everything I thought I knew - significantly so For the Better.

Just listened the Audio Book - N of 1, by Glenn Sabin. His CLL was far more deadly than our MM. His Book covers his Journey from 1991 (in his early 20's) thru the writing of his Book in 2015 (now in his late 60's and a Cancer Coach) - He recovered completely from his very dangerous and incurable blood cancer using a Plant Based Diet, Supplements, Exercise, and Monitoring from Experts at Harvard Medical, John Hopkins, The Block Cancer Center and many others. Though he was willing to take Chemo if All Else Failed, he completely Recovered without Chemo or Radiation.

We can Directly Affect our Outcome thru Life Style Changes.

Hi Kathryn,
happy birthday! I usually get a flu shot in Sept. Had RSV last October 2023 with Covid vaccine.
I see my oncologist this Thursday and ask about Covid and if another RSV is needed.
I do ok with the vaccines .

Yup, it’s COVID season again. I got sick two weeks ago, and tested positive for COVID. Oncologist prescribed Paxlovid. I just got over it.
