Hi Dan,
Check out Healthtree as they offer services to Multiple Myeloma patients such as mentoring through a patient coaching program , a financial coaching program, and help locating a local qualified oncologist and Multiple Myeloma Specialists.
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation also offers recommendations for oncologists and Multiple Myeloma Specialists. The difference between choosing an oncologist and a MM Specialist is often the geographic barrier for specialists at major cancer clinics and local oncologists. Local oncologists often do not have the expertise and up to date information that a Specialist has particularly for multiple myeloma since they treat all cancers.
Both organizations offer free webinars to patients. I have a Healthtree coach , attend on line free webinars, and have used their Healthtree University courses .
I hope this information helps.

To find a multiple myeloma (MM) specialist, you can follow these steps:

1. Consult Your Doctor: If your doctor suspects multiple myeloma, they will refer you to a specialist. This could be
- An oncologist (cancer specialist)
- A hematologist (specialist in blood cancers and blood disorders)
- A Show Full Answer

To find a multiple myeloma (MM) specialist, you can follow these steps:

1. Consult Your Doctor: If your doctor suspects multiple myeloma, they will refer you to a specialist. This could be:
- An oncologist (cancer specialist)
- A hematologist (specialist in blood cancers and blood disorders)
- A hematologist-oncologist (a doctor with combined specialties)

2. Specialist Roles:
- Hematopathologist: This specialist examines blood and bone marrow samples in a lab to diagnose and stage myeloma.

To find a coach or mentor for MM:
1. MyMyelomaTeam: You can connect with others who have similar experiences. Use the "Meet Others" feature to find members by diagnosis, treatments, symptoms, and more.
2. Mentor Programs: Programs like Imerman Angels offer mentorship. You can sign up to become a mentor or find one through their platform.

While MM specialists and coaches/mentors are not the same, both play crucial roles in managing and supporting your condition.

Kathryn, I was resign ur message and thinking I know a MM coach aka specialists like u describe, and then I said David Emerson, I found him a month ago and he has been advising me awaiting my diagnostics which I got this week so I’m about to sign up for his course and consult w him about my diagnosis, later this week bec my pet scan was denied by insisrance and my onc refuses to ask for a peer to peer review based on my prior weeks BMB 20% I have been diagnosed w smoldering myeloma, anyway, the bone scan is not detailed as the pet scan, I will ask David Emerson to advise me on what to do, whether I should accept the bone scan or insist on the pet scan…
