How Long Does It Take To Recover From Stem Cell Transplant?
I had my SCT in February and was in the hospital for 3 1/2 weeks, it was kind of a slow recovery, I was tired but after the 100 days things started to pick up. Since then I have been in a 15 day road trip, a 10 day camping trip, and 4 days with family in another city. It seems to be getting back to normal. I get tired easy but have learned to do what my body tells me. I am now at day 210 and today's update I actually mowed my lawn. Oncologist gave me 2 things of advise (1) live your life normally and (2) be careful in crowds and learn to know what your body needs like rest, relaxing, and refreshing. Keep the journey and have faith.
Hi Brenda, sounds very positive that you are having Stem Cell.I had it 4years ago and had a 3 wk stay in hospital until blood count returned to normal.A couple of weeks later was in great health and back to myself again.Best of luck with it.Theres always a danger of infection and its quite common to get one while recovering as immune wii be low,but all wii be fine with gods help
Brenda,
If you are responding to treatment, doctors are now saying you may not need it. Talk to your Oncologist. MM treatment is changing every day.

Hi Brenda. I was diagnosed in February of 2020, and had my transplant in August of 2020.
My oncologist had warned me about side effects, so I was prepared (sort of). I
After the transplant, I was off most of my medications until January of 2021, then started on a full barrage of infusions and oral meds that lasted all year. Currently on Darzalex and Dexamethasone, and my numbers have been consistently good.
Strength came back very slowly but I would say, by six months I was almost back to normal.
Let me know if you have other questions, happy to help.
Thanks, glad you are able to enjoy
