Smaller meals/snacks, are for some people tolerated better than 3 large meals a day, especially with any nausea or decreased appetite
Lorraine, I cannot be sure why they suggested this for you but for me it was because I am supposed to take meds with food and some of them conflict with each other so it is best to space them apart.
Eating frequent small meals can be beneficial for people with myeloma for several reasons:
- Adequate Calorie Intake: It helps ensure you obtain enough calories throughout the day, especially if you have a reduced appetite
- Manage Nausea: Smaller meals can be easier on the stomach and help manage nausea.
