My Husband And Is 80yrs, Given 3-6 Mo. To Live. June Is 6 Mo. Why No Pain But Will Stay In Bed All Day; Very Weak. What To Expect ?
I’m saddened to read of your situation. Being in Calif allows you access to great MM specialists. City of Hope in Duarte is amazing, Dr. James Berenson has his own MM facility in West Hollywood and is world renowned, UCLA has a great MM department in LA, Stanford also has a great MM team in Palo Alto. A second opinion may give you more help or improved palliative care. You may be able to send his records for review and not have to actually appear. You may learn of better hospice care available for him that could greatly help with your situation. I’ll say a prayer for each of you 🙏🏻
I loved the Miracle story with the Angel.
@A MyMyelomaTeam Member I am very sorry for your husband's diagnosis and prognosis, my thoughts and prayers are definitely with you both! If your husband has hospice or palliative care, perhaps they could explain things for y'all, and also his doctors should be able to provide answers to those questions as well, that's what they are there for!

Mona,
I’m 66 and was an athlete, and remodeled homes. I was very strong with lots of energy. Now everything, even the littlest thing feels like I’m climbing a mountain. I’m happy to hear your husband does not have pain. What a blessing that is. His red and white blood cells are probably too low and he might need a transfusion to help him feel better. There are lots of things they can do to help your husband without giving him dangerous chemo or immunotherapy. Palliative Care might help you with that.

Mona,
I would get a Second Opinion from a MM Specialist. If he has some spots, he may be able to tolerate radiation, and it may help him feel better. It may also help if he starts experiencing pain. There are many over 80 who are getting treatment, albeit lower doses.
