Dorian, I had my SCT on March 16, 2023. Had a bone marrow biopsy on May 5th, 2023 and I was already in remission, and MRD 0.
A year has gone by, and just had my bone marrow biopsy on May 1st. Had an appointment with my myeloma specialist at UCSF 2 days ago for the results and thank God my bone marrow still clear, my MRD still being 0
And my FISH test looks great, no translocations, no abnormalities!
Since 2 months after my SCT I'm on a monthly maintenance treatment of a Darzalex shot, no side effects and, until now is working great.
I still have ti go for my myeloma panel every month, but is very true...having myeloma is not a sprint, but a marathon!
Wish and pray ๐Ÿ™ for excellent results on your side!๐Ÿ’š

I think everyone is so different there are certainly different results . For me I still had a small percentage of protein show in my BMB so I was on Kyprolis infusions for several months until I achieved remission. So it didnโ€™t happen right away for me but itโ€™s been seven years since then. I feel very blessed and thankful for this time.

I went into remission before the stem cell transplant . I went through 4 months of Revlimid and Velcade that put me in remission but mine I have been told it was so aggressive that I would not stay in remission because of chromosome 13 had to be destroyed snd required 2 SCT 100 days apart

By the end of your 100 day recovery period you should be in remission.

I was told by my oncologist the reason the say MM has no cure is once you been diagnosed you will always have a low number of proteins which many are unmeasurable.
