How To Deal With Plasmacytoma?

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Yardley, PA

I have a plasmacytoma on my cervical spine that is pushing on my c7 nerve and causing arm and hand pain. Been about 2 months or so. Getting another MRI in a week. Radiation or surgery I suppose are my options. Anyone have similar experience? I'm hoping to get my nerve back to normal.

Hi Stevah, radiation is usually the treatment for plasmacytoma of the spine. Especially if the tumor is pressing on your spinal cord. Steriods and systemic myeloma therapy help as well. Surgery is also an option. Big hugs your way.

Hi SteveH.....I had plasmacytoma in my lower spine when I was first diagnosed in 2020. The induction therapy of Revlimid, Velcade and Dex quickly disolved it. I would see how it reacts to drug therapy before any surgery or radiation.
