Treatment Vs. Non-treatment. What Are The Tradeoffs?
I've currently been diagnosed with a single plasmacytoma in right tibia, which we'll treat soon. It appears that I may be on the line between starting treatment for multiple myeloma (some indicators are okay, and a few aren't). We're inclined to monitor things carefully and not start treatment for a while, if that is possible
However, the more that I read about the treatment process and side effects, the more I wonder if it is worth it. I'm 73 yrs old, have Stage 3-4 (my GFR fluctuates)… read more
Thank you.
Joseph, I am or have been an active and energetic. Sadly my husband who I was married to for 56 years died 3 years ago but I still feel life is worth living even with MM. Each person has to make their own decision about this but so far I've had very positive feedback from my doctors that age is not necessarily a barrier to treatment depending on your physical condition. I've been luck. I have light chains myeloma which has been responding well to my treatment. and I have no major organ involvement. But I do have anemia, fatigue and dizziness. I try to be as positive as I can. Check out what's available to you and don't focus on the possible side effects until they happen to you. Good luck. Ruth277
Joseph,
Yes he does. He had complete lists of supplements to take and diet changes to make. That rhymes ! Lol. He has an aggressive type of MM. You would be amazed at his energy.
Thanks. Does it provide strategies that complement traditional medical treatments for cancer or alternative treatments? Thanks again.
Joseph,
I just started reading Dr Brandy’s book “Beating Back Cancer Naturally”. I think it has lots of great tips to improve quality of life while keeping MM from progressing. It’s easy to read. He also has podcasts that are interesting to watch, for free. But the book is inexpensive.
