I’ve had sinus problems for about 25-30 years. Not a bacterial infection, caused by mold and fungus. Way before I was diagnosed with MM. I take Flonase, Olopatadine, and use a Netipod to flush my sinuses.

Greetings from Alaska I haven’t had any sinus problems, but upon my last pet CT scan, the uptake was in my sinus. When I was a kid, most young kids had their tonsils and adenoids removed. My mother did not go that route. We just medicated for the sore throat and we gargle every day with either Listerine or salt water, which I hated. In Alaska the weather is very dry, so my sinuses are always dry, I noticed when I visited Arizona, I sneezed a lot so I would think it is the dry air and maybe particulates in the air cause that.

Since I’ve had sinus issues for 30 years, it’s quite possible that the fungus and other factors, whether genetic or environmental, are contributing factors to developing MM. There is so much the medical community doesn’t know how or why we develop MM.

Colleen, I'm glad you asked this question. I have allergies since I was born and over the counter drugs worked until I had MM. I've asked this question in the past and got no answers. Even my doctors thought my question was strange. My nose only runs when I eat, whether it's hot or cold food. I'm in Florida for the winter and the doctor treating me down here recommended Flonase with Fluticasone in it, I guest there's different types of Flonase and Claritin but I don't like Claritin so he suggested Allegra. It is working but not totally but better then before I took it. Unfortunately I had to stop taking it because the Allegra was giving me headaches. I see my doctor Thursday and I'll ask him if I should try Claritin or Claritin D with Flonase. It is embarrassing especially when I go out to eat and I'm constantly wiping my nose. More side effects of MM.
