I’m so happy you are going to a Specialist. Once you are set up there, they can work with your local Oncologist so you get the latest treatment. You can also talk to them online, so you don’t have to travel. God bless your daughter for taking you💕 It’s so important to be able to trust your doctor. It gives you peace of mind.

I’m finishing the book now and have found it interesting but I still haven’t started my treatment. I live in Upstate NY and there is no major Cancer Center within hours of here. When I first got to this site Paula (Pbaldini) stressed how important it is to start at a major Cancer Center. I had all my tests here in Saratoga Springs NY but the more I thought about it the more I realized that i should have a Consultation (which my hematologist/oncologist was totally open to.) I’m going with my daughter to Dana Farber in Boston next Tuesday. Thank you Paula for emphasizing the importance of this.

I read Tom Brokaw's book about a year after my stem cell transplant. I checked it out from the library and shared it with some of my friends. I thought it was interesting that one of his daughters is a physician, and was very involved with his treatment.
