Also a great explanation by captainbilly. Also to add to his info. They now have the ability to program your T-cells in less than one week. And some clinics are now using it as induction therapy. It seems to be the future in therapy.

I can give it a try, your T cells are harvested and sent to a lab where they are engineered to identify the BCMA receptors on the surface of the myeloma cell and binds to the myeloma cell and destroys it. It takes about 4 weeks to engineer the T cells and then they are infused back into your body. I don't know anyone personally that has had this done but it looks like a winner in fighting the myeloma cells. I hope that this is helpful.

There is information located on web browsers under Abecma at Bristol Myers or CarT .
I hope this helps.

Captainbilly seems to have described it about as short as you can make it and from what I've read he is correct. However, with that said...from what I've seen recently from someone on fb that has had it done, it is not the next best thing to slice bread. It appears its another hit or miss like the SCT...if you're lucky it will work and hopefully hold you for a long time, and if not, it might hold you about 6 months. I was hoping it would be the go to thing also, but again, nothing is full proof yet.
