Pain is my number 1 symptom and I'm stable. I am in a pain patch fentenyl which helps tremendously However I still have break through pain as well so oftentimes I have to rely on perscription pain meds. My pain is usually worse at night because I'm laying on the places that I have the most pain from. My cancer is at T4 and I have severe pain in my hips and lower back. I have hip tears unrelated to MM. Lower back pain from previously fractured L2 and L3 that was surgically corrected around 4 months ago. However I still have a great deal of pain even after the surgery. So it's been my learning experience some people do not experience pain or very little. I guess I got all of theirs...lol.
My oncologist told me that MM was one of the most painful cancers because it affects your bones. Was told MM was like having bone cancer but it's not. I hope this helps. I apologize for the lengthy analogy. I do have several different size pillows that help me get more comfortable while sleeping and have to rotate quite often during the night to get relief. Ice and heat do not help much.
